Space Traveler

I catch myself dreaming away

in the depths of somewhere else

at times my thoughts are louder

than the background noise 

it may be cars, birds, people,

the wind changing direction,

it does not matter

I can easily escape from the now

inside of my mind

as if it is another dimension

and I, a space traveler

has not been that way since always 

did I have a great possibility for this? yes

but as I was becoming a person of my own

the influences were chaotic on their own 

so you see, I was deep in

unkinded actions and genes 

to dissociate is an intuitive form of escaping from what is too heavy for you 

from what you are not ready to deal with

your brain at the same time that drives you mad,

saves you from spiraling down

I keep on dreaming wide awake

on the day by day

or the night away

it does not matter
